can tfcc tear heal without surgery
Let's talk. TFCC Tear Surgery? by TENO 23, 2019 TOP What is a TFCC tear and needs surgery? Can a TFCC be cured without surgery? I'm a doctor who had a TFCC tear diagnosed in MRI. They never operated on me, why? How did I heal this problem? Let's go in. What is a Tear TFCC? TFCC represents the Triangular Complex of Fibrocartilation. It is basically a triangular spacer with ligaments that lives on your doll's pink finger (1). This ligament complex stabilizes the bones on that side and adds damping. TFCC can be broken with a drop in a stretched hand, another trauma, or simply wear and tears. Instability is another characteristic of TFCC tears (2). TFCC is part of a large group of ligaments that help stabilize the bones of the small wrist and the ulna bone. If these stretch and allow too much movement, this is called instability. These dolls are more likely to be beaten over time due to all this extra movement. Can a TFCC cure the ear without surgery? First of all, you should realize that TFCC is a bit like a knee jellyfish, with an area that has a better blood supply to the outside of the wrist and an area with poor blood supply to the inside. Only tears to the outside will probably heal for themselves, as these have a good blood supply. About 30% of TFCC tears will heal on their own for about 6 months. (11) Is it a TFCC Wool Pain? A traumatic tear (i.e., due to a fall) can be very painful for weeks to months. The average wear and degenerative tear TFCC is usually associated with mild to moderate chronic pain on the wrist's ulnar side. Usually, activity with the hand such things of grip or manipulate objects that require force can be painful. What is a TFCC repair? There are two main surgical approaches, rubble and repair. Debridation means cutting torn pieces of the broken TFCC (4). Repair means sewing a tear that is on the outside of the CTBT that has a better blood supply. Both can be performed with open surgery or arthroscopy (using a "scope" as in the previous image). There are three main surgical techniques: internal, external and all-inside.(3) In addition, some surgeons try to shorten the ulna bone, but the research shows that this is probably not necessary (9). Does surgery work? Debridation in a study did not produce better grip or pain relief (6). In another, only 40% of patients were satisfied (7). In another, tears due to wear and to patients who had a long ulnar bone were associated with poor surgical results. (12) Having said that other studies have shown good results (8). With regard to repair against debris, it is unlikely that one will be better than the other and that one will not have any high-level research to support them working well against a simulation procedure (10). It means we don't have any standard gold research that shows us that TFCC surgery is better than doing anything. This is interesting as they are common surgeries, what is the recovery time for Wrist surgery? Recovery may take 6 weeks to 4 months. You're expected to start using your fingers as soon as possible and as long as you're in a stylized to keep them from laughing. Ice 3-5 times a day is used to reduce inflammation during the first few weeks. As for the night, your wrist will have to stay elevated while sleeping. Perc-TFCC Ligamentoplasty – Faster recovery for some patients We have been using the percutaneous TFCC ligamentplasty procedure for many years to help reduce recovery and eliminate the need for surgery in patients with TFCC tears with and without instability. This implies a precise, ultrasound-guided injection of your own high doses in the TFCC and associated ligaments. The aim is to promote healing without the need for surgery. I'm a big fan of this procedure after I've done on my own right wrist. One day I was leaving a convenience store and my shoe ties were accidentally locked up and I fell hard on my right hand. After severe pain and barely able to perform procedures for weeks, an MRI showed a TFCC tear. I also had wrist instability. Instead of surgery, I had the Perc-TFCC ligamentplasty procedure and I never looked back. Now I lift heavy weights without any problems and instead of being in a big plaster or brace, I could go back to work immediately and I had an active recovery. It means that my recovery period, apart from a few days of wrist pain, was much faster than if I had chosen surgery. Up? TFCC tears can be painful and frustrating and surgery is often recommended. However, you can avoid invasive surgery with new injection-based procedures and image-guided. ______________________________________ References:(1) Pang EQ, Yao J. .
